As keynote speaker at the HAH Annual Meeting

HONOLULU July 11, 2012 – Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing director Ellen Godbey Carson delivered the keynote speech at the annual meeting of the Healthcare Association of Hawaii (HAH) at the Hawaii Prince Hotel. Carson's topic was "The Affordable Care Act and SCOTUS: Implications and Next Steps," regarding the recent decision by the Supreme Court of the United States. The Act and the decision have major implications nationally and unique ones in Hawai`i, the only state to have an existing employer mandate for prepaid health care. Carson discussed critical issues regarding how the ACA and Hawaii's state laws will relate to one another, next steps for the health care industry, and anticipated future challenges to the ACA.
