| AHFI Public Finance Team Serves as Co-Underwriters' Counsel for State's Largest Bond Transaction |
| The Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing public finance team served as co-underwriters' counsel for the State of Hawai`i's recent $1.28 billion General Obligation Bond deal, the largest bond transaction in the state's history. AHFI attorneys Paul Alston, William Yuen, William Kaneko and David Abadir advised Managing Underwriter Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Co-Senior Manager Goldman, Sachs, and Co-Managers Barclays Capital, Citigroup, J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley on the transaction, which will reduce the state's debt service, restructure current outstanding debt and improve the state's financial position. Earlier this fall the other members of the Alston Hunt Floyd & Ing public finance team served with Yuen's former firm Ching, Yuen & Morikawa as co-underwriters' counsel for the State of Hawai`i Airports System's $300 million revenue bond refunding. The team advised Senior Manager Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Co-Senior Manager Piper Jaffray and Co-Managers RBC Capital Markets and Siebert Brandford Shank & Co. in a transaction that restructured the State Airports System's long term debt. Following the completion of this transaction Yuen joined AHFI. |
